Method 3

Up

In like manner, the third method, Lunge and Strike Method (Jinjun Kyukjukse) identifies the single most basic sword movement, that of stepping forward and executing a cut or thrust. Classically this method is identified as "Advance and Kill the Thief" and bespeaks the ability of an individual to walk forward a given number of steps and perform a single Straight Descending Cut(“chungmyōn Pegi”). Modern sword practices have compounded this by including all twelve cuts, and three thrusts at this point, so obviating the need for a number of the subsequent methods. This will probably bear some explanation.
